History / Literature / ELA Week of April 18th - 22nd

Look for Permission slips to come home this week - Field Trip on Tuesday 26th

History - This week we will learn the outcome of The First Council of Nicea, and how the Western Roman Empire ended.

Literature - We will read and discuss chapters 11 and 12 of "Detectives in Togas"

ElA - We will finish the Practice Island book this week.
 In Building Language we will discuss the stems RE, SUB, and DE

 Spelling and Vocabulary
1  1.        permitted – allowed to do something
    2.        ambitious – eager to obtain success or power
 .  3.      reconsider – rethink, review
    4.        stressful – full of tension, demanding
    5.        neglect – to pay too little attention too
6  6.        dagger  - a short, sword like weapon with a pointed blade and a handle
    7.        skinflint –miser, spends as little money as possible
    8.        stagger – to move or stand unsteadily
    9.        innocent – free from wrong – not guilty
    10.     intently – to look at closely, earnest or eager attention
    11.     council – an assembly of persons summoned for consultation or advice
    12.     ridiculous –  absurd, illogical or foolish
    Write a story using at least 6 Spelling words. Dues Friday. Underline the spelling words in the story.
     Make a design using 2 spelling words.  Due Wednesday.
